In empirical medicine, black cumin oil is said to have immunomodulating properties. This means that the oil can certainly have an influence on the immune system.
Black cumin oil is also said to have a harmonising effect on metabolic processes and, thanks to the vitamins and healthy fatty acids it contains, it helps with infections and has an anti-inflammatory effect. In addition, the oil is said to offer protection for the gastrointestinal tract.
Calendula and evening primrose oil
Hildegard von Bingen attributed positive properties to the marigold (Calendula officinalis) for the treatment of various complaints and diseases. The plant's ingredients, such as flavonoids, triterpenes and saponins, have antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, circulation-promoting and wound-healing effects.
Evening primrose (Oenothera biennis) also has a value in natural medicine. Evening primrose oil is available on the market as a food supplement. In addition, the oil is a frequently used active ingredient in cosmetic products.
Evening primrose oil produced from the seeds contains the important fatty acids linoleic acid and gamma-linolenic acid, which are said to have a positive influence on the immune system.
