High-quality CBD oil in organic quality from the Swiss alpine country

The CBD market is booming. However, the search for a good CBD oil is made more difficult by many factors - starting with the names and different terms such as full-spectrum oil, broad-spectrum oil, hemp oil, hemp seed oil, CBD content, CBD concentration, to the different extraction processes and the promises of the possible effect. ALPINOLS, on the other hand, attaches great importance to education regarding the topic of cannabidiol (CBD) and transparency in the origin and production of CBD products.

The hemp plant contains numerous valuable active substances. The therapeutic benefit is mainly attributed to the cannabinoids such as cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). But also the terpenes, which are responsible for the aroma and the taste, can unfold various positive effects. In addition, the hemp plant offers flavonoids. These are secondary plant substances that can render free radicals harmless as antioxidants.

Possible areas of application for CBD oil

Cannabidiol (CBD) is currently being intensively researched as a medicinal single substance in pharmaceutical quality. Although studies are still lacking in many areas of application, the results of studies to date indicate a broad spectrum of effects.

Depending on the production method, the quality can vary considerably.

Dennoch können hochwertige CBD oils trigger positive effects. Das bestätigen auch die zahlreichen Erfahrungsberichte.

CBD oil against anxiety and inner restlessness

CBD oil against inflammation

CBD oil for headaches/migraines

In addition, cannabidiol (CBD) interacts with certain medications as the liver metabolises both substances via various liver enzymes. Possible interactions can occur between CBD and the following medications:

With regard to the use of CBD oil for headaches and migraines, users repeatedly report how well it helps them at the first signs of an impending headache attack.

CBD-Öl gegen Schmerzen

The cannabinoids from the hemp plant can relieve chronic pain. This is also confirmed by numerous studies. The tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is mainly responsible for the analgesic effect.

Das bedeutet, dass CBD can be used for pain in order to positively influence the sensation of pain.

CBD oil for falling asleep

CBD oil for weight loss

For explanation: Leptin is a so-called satiety hormone that is predominantly produced by fat cells. In controlling appetite, the hormone signals to the brain that the body is "full".

The result of this study states that CBD had no effect. Only a synthetic substance similar to CBD showed a minimal effect.

Full spectrum CBD oil vs. broad spectrum CBD oil

Die Gewinnung der CBD extracts is done by CO2 extraction. Damit enthält das CBD-Öl das entire valuable spectrum of the plant.

The CBD extract for the full spectrum oil is then dissolved in a carrier oil (organic hemp seed oil, organic sunflower seed oil or MCT oil).

For the production of the THC-free product, a further step is necessary. In order to remove the THC in a gentle way while retaining the other valuable ingredients of the hemp plant, the modern separation process called flash chromatography is used. Subsequently, the extract is again dissolved in a carrier oil.

B. CBD-Isolat).

CBD oils with other natural ingredients in high quality

In order to expand the areas of application of CBD products and to respond even more to people's needs, ALPINOLS has developed the CBD Oil Effect Line.

CBD oil dosage and intake

Taking the CBD oil is easy with the help of the pipette vials. It is recommended to administer the CBD oil drops directly under the tongue so that the oral mucosa can absorb the ingredients and release them into the bloodstream.

When dosing CBD oils, it must be remembered that every organism reacts differently Eine allgemeine Empfehlung lautet, mit einem Vollspektrum-Öl zu beginnen, das einen niedrigen CBD-Gehalt aufweist.

It is important for users to approach it slowly.

Do CBD oils have side effects?

When subjects were given very high doses of CBD in studies, side effects such as dry mouth, drowsiness, fatigue, dizziness, low blood pressure and gastrointestinal complaints were observed in isolated cases. It is therefore quite possible that CBD products can also trigger these side effects.

Generell gelten die CBD drops are well tolerated.

Can CBD oils cause interactions?

In studies, interactions between CBD and medicines were observable. This is because CBD, like many medicines, is metabolised via certain liver enzymes. This means that the simultaneous intake of CBD products and medicines can lead to either the CBD being broken down more slowly by the body or its effect being increased. It is also possible that the effect of the medication lasts longer than desired or is impaired.

For these reasons, CBD oils should not be combined with the following medicines:

  • Anticoagulants like warfarin
  • Antiepileptic drugs (clobazam)
  • Acid inhibitors like omeprazole
  • Neuroleptics like risperidone
  • Antibiotics such as rifampicin
  • Benzodiazepines and sleeping pills
  • Schmerzmittel wie Diclofenact
  • Cystotica

If taking medication regularly, it is strongly recommended to consult with a health care professional before using CBD products.

FAQ

What is CBD?

CBD macht dich also nicht “high”!

How does CBD work?

You can often find CBD in the form of CBD oil or CBD flowers. CBD interacts with the body's endocannabinoid system. This system influences our hormone production, immune system, sleep, appetite and pain perception. Animals also possess such an endocannabinoid system, so animals can also benefit from CBD .

The endocannabinoid system is part of our nervous system. It has two central receptors, the cannabinoid receptors CB1 and CB2. In addition, our body also has its own cannabinoids, also called endocannabinoids. These can dock onto the receptors and activate them.

If CBD is absorbed through the mucous membranes, it enters the bloodstream. CBD as a cannabinoid can then also dock to these receptors in the body and interact with its own endocannabinoid system. Cannabinoid receptors have different tasks. Thus, CBD can have various effects on our body, which are also currently being intensively researched. Among other things, it is being tested whether CBD can have positive influences on the immune system, sleep, our appetite and also our sensation of pain.

How is CBD absorbed by the body?

CBD oil is absorbed through the mucous membranes in the mouth by dripping the drops under the tongue and keeping them there for at least 60 seconds. Afterwards, you should not drink anything directly or brush your teeth, for example.

Water-soluble CBD drops dissolve in any liquid. This works thanks to a patented micellar technology in which the CBD oil is sealed into small capsules called micelles. The body also uses these micelles during fat digestion to absorb all the important components of food.

CBD -Cosmetics: Gel serums, creams, lotions are usually applied locally to the skin (topically) and absorbed there. The CBD therefore does not enter the bloodstream. In cosmetic products, the effect of CBD must therefore be assessed externally.

If CBD flowers are smoked, the cannabinoid enters the body via the lungs.

How to dose CBD?

Your body's endocannabinoid system has a huge impact on areas such as your sense of hunger, pain, inflammatory processes in the body or your mood. CBD can have an effect on the endocannabinoid system. However, this depends on many different factors. Every body is different, so the processing of ingested substances is always individual. Not only your diet and weight, but even your genes can affect how your endocannabinoid system interacts.

A uniform dosage recommendation is therefore not possible. The lack of studies here also means that no clear information can be given so far. Therefore, be sure to talk to your doctor before using a CBD product.

A CBD oil with a higher concentration has more mg CBD per drop, which means a higher dosage per drop. A small example: If you want to dose a total of 20 mg CBD , then with a CBD oil with 20% you only need 2 drops with 10 mg CBD, with a CBD oil with 10% you then need 4 drops with 5 mg CBD.

At a glance, this means for the individual CBD oils:

  • 5% CBD oil = 2,5mg CBD per drop
  • 10% CBD oil = 5 mg CBD per drop
  • 15% CBD oil = 7.5mg CBD per drop
  • 20% CBD oil = 10mg CBD per drop
  • 25% CBD oil = 12.5mg CBD per drop

What is the shelf life of CBD?

In principle, every CBD oil should have a best-before date. It is usually the case that CBD oils have a shelf life of about six months after opening. Unopened, it can be even longer.

To assess the quality of an CBD oil, we like to compare it to a wine. As with wine, the smell, taste and colour tell us how good the CBD oil is. It is important that the CBD oil is stored away from light and refrigerated. The refrigerator is a good place to store CBD oil.

When does CBD take effect?

As unique as people are, so individual is the effect and duration of effect of CBD. It depends on many factors that determine how CBD works. The cannabinoid CBD is a component of the hemp plant along with other cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids. The hemp plant has been used as a medicinal plant for a long time and is also used in modern medicine.

Many popular CBD products are available as CBD cosmetics, CBD oil or as water-soluble CBD drops. More and more non-medical users have also discovered the cannabinoid of the hemp plant. Today's studies on humans are unfortunately rare, so statements about the effect of CBD are vague.

If an effect occurs and how long it lasts certainly also depends on the possibility of ingesting CBD . The cannabinoid can enter the body via cosmetics, capsules, oil or flowers.

In the case of CBD oil, it is absorbed through the mucous membranes. Via the mucous membranes, the CBD enters the bloodstream and is further processed in the stomach after swallowing.

Can CBD be intoxicating?

Not only CBD can dock to the cannabinoid receptors, but also the psychoactive substance THC. THC influences processes that are controlled by the cannabinoid system. While the body's own endocannabinoids can be quickly broken down again, THC remains present for longer and leads to a longer-lasting effect.

CBD on the other hand does not have a psychoactive effect and is used for therapeutic or medical purposes. The World Health Organisation (WHO) also classifies CBD as harmless. In the meantime, more intensive research is also being conducted into the effects of CBD . Scientists want to find out more about effects and potential areas of application. At the moment, however, many results are not applicable to humans because cell or animal studies are often used. In the future, there will probably be a lot more research into the effects of CBD .

Difference between Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum and Hemp Oil

Hemp has many uses. Not only the hemp seeds, but also the leaves, stems and flowers of the plant are used. It is easy to get confused when you read about CBD oil, hemp oil, full spectrum or broad spectrum. We want to explain the difference.

First of all, full spectrum and broad spectrum are different types of CBD oil. Hemp oil is usually made from hemp seeds. In the case of CBD oils, however, they are made from the fine hemp leaves and stalks. A hemp oil is made from cold pressing, a CBD oil is extracted from the harvested hemp leaves.

What is a Full Spectrum CBD oil?

Basically, Full Spectrum and Broad Spectrum are terms that belong to a CBD oil. The difference between two CBD oils is described here. In a Full Spectrum, all other cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids are included in addition to CBD . The legal amount of THC is also contained in a full spectrum CBD oil. With these oils, the entourage effect comes into its own.

What is a Broad Spectrum CBD oil?

A Broad Spectrum, on the other hand, has exactly this amount of THC filtered out. A Broad Spectrum CBD oil also contains CBD and all important cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids, but it does not contain THC. Since CBD and all other components are present as an extract after extraction, this must be mixed with a so-called carrier oil. Sunflower seed oil, MCT oil or hemp oil or hemp seed oil are often used for this purpose.

What is hemp oil?

A pure hemp oil is therefore not to be confused with a CBD oil. The differences lie particularly in the hemp plant components used. Hemp oil, or hemp seed oil, is produced from hemp seeds. These usually do not contain many of the cannabinoids, but rather valuable omega-3 fatty acids and omega-6 fatty acids. However, hemp oil is also characterised by a strong, bitter taste.

CBD -Oil and hemp oil are therefore not the same.

Can you legally buy CBD ?

We do not give legal advice, but rather want to give you a brief overview of the current legal situation. Basically, CBD is not listed as a substance in the Narcotics Act (BtMG). In theory, it is not considered a narcotic and is therefore legal. The only difficulty is that hemp is listed there. Therefore, there is still no clear regulation concerning the legal situation.

Our CBD oils comply with the THC content, which is a maximum of 0.2% in Germany and 1% in Switzerland. In our ALPINOLS Zero, the THC content is even removed during CBD oil production. We have also linked extensive laboratory analyses on our CBD product pages, so you can be sure that we pay attention to everything!

The application of CBD

For legal reasons, manufacturers cannot make any statements on dosage recommendations until further notice. Long-term studies on dosage are still pending. Furthermore, CBD oil sold over the counter is not considered a medicinal product that may be labelled with a recommendation. A new milestone, however, is that CBD products have not been subject to the Novel Food Regulation since March 2020.

Independent information platforms such as CannaTrust or Leafly, which provide information about such claims, can help here.

How do I find the right CBD oil?

CBD-Oil in organic quality

A good feature when deciding on the right CBD oil is organic quality. The hemp plant is a deep rooter, which makes it all the more important that the soil has been cultivated organically for a long time.

CBD-oil with THC or THC-free

Decide for yourself whether you want a low-THC product (broad spectrum) or a full spectrum oil ( CBD) with all the important components of the hemp plant.

Find out about CBD

Also look for other sources and research results on CBD to be able to inform yourself independently. CannaTrust or Leafly are good platforms where you can find more information about CBD . CBD is not a miracle cure. All information presented here is not intended as an alternative to consultation with your doctor.

CBD from ALPINOLS

ALPINOLS has more than 15 years of experience in cannabis cultivation and over 25 years in organic farming. So we have learned that plants are very similar to humans. The more care and love they get, the better they grow. That's why we harvest every leaf by hand, don't use any foreign substances and analyse our CBD products in-house as well as with an independent laboratory.

What does CBD oil help with?

A full-spectrum CBD oil contains all the important ingredients from the hemp plant such as cannabinoids, terpenes and secondary plant substances, so that they can reinforce each other in their effects (entourage effect). Possible areas of application of CBD oil are anxiety, inner restlessness, sleep problems and inflammations. In addition, CBD oil can influence the sensation of pain and increase the general well-being. If you want to buy CBD oil, you should pay attention to the quality. This is mainly determined by the origin of the hemp (organic cultivation if possible), the extraction process (CO2 extraction is considered gentle) and the carrier oil (e.g. hemp oil, sunflower seed oil, MCT oil).

How dangerous is CBD oil?

Organic CBD oils are generally well tolerated and only occasionally cause mild side effects, such as dry mouth, fatigue, low blood pressure, dizziness or gastrointestinal complaints. The WHO also classifies CBD as harmless. Before using CBD oil, however, you should consult a doctor if you regularly take medication. This is because CBD and certain medicines can interact with each other.

When should you not take CBD?

Women should not use CBD products during pregnancy and breastfeeding. This is because it is not known how phytocannabinoids such as CBD affect the unborn child. Likewise, it is not known exactly whether a newborn child absorbs CBD with its mother's milk. Since CBD is metabolised and broken down in the liver, people who regularly take medication should also exercise caution, as interactions may occur. Likewise, people suffering from liver disease or liver damage should not use CBD oils.
